(http://www.mikegarson.com)Mike is known around the world for his adaptability, versatility and virtuosity. He's worked with many greats such as David Bowie from the early 70's onwards, Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails & of course now RTA!John Comments "I've been a massive fan of Mike's work ever since Aladdin Sane (Bowie '73) & to have him play on this album is just fantastic! I can't wait for you all to hear it!"--5th July 2006 - Video Diary No. 4 now online!Studio Report: RTA vs KISSThe boys hang out with Kiss after a hard days recording...Once again you can find it here on the Downloads page.
--12th June 2006 - Studio Update

So what's the latest in the studio? We catch up with the John to find out.
"I suppose this is how Def Leppard felt when recording Hysteria. I am of course referring to 'freedom' in the studio. This is something quite new to a lot of us when recording an album. Usually we write the songs and rehearse them over and over again until we can hold full conversations whilst playing them. Then record them. This time was different. We wrote the songs, rehearsed them, gigged some of them, tweaked them, demoed them and finally tweaked them once more. It's been a really fun way to make music. Unlike Hysteria we've no intentions of layering 18 vocal overdubs - we haven't got time.
The guitars are finally complete minus guitar solos. Steve and I still have to write them! Joel has returned to the hot seat to continue where he left off. In case you haven't been watching the videos he's already laid some phat grooves on a number of the tracks. Next up will be God Almighty himself. Leigh-viathon!
I have to say that Leigh has taken the songs to another level. Otherwise they would have been instrumentals which is boring. Seriously though we're all really pleased with the results. We had no intentions of spending this long in the studio but hey, its like going to your favourite pub. Until the landlord rings that bell you'll keep drinking and right now it feels like 1:15AM. Lock-in!
So come on Joel, its your round!
Surprisingly, we're still on schedule for getting the thing mixed and mastered as planned so what more can I say without sounding like a pro WWF wrestler. 'This things gonna kick your ass!"
John--Third Video Diary now online! The 3rd Studio Report Video is now available to watch. The format is pretty much the same. Silly yet extremely informative with a serious undertone. It also features the boys rehearsing in their rehearsal room which is actually situated a mile below ground level!Once again you can find it here on the Downloads page.

--7th May 2006 - Second Video Diary now online!
If you enjoyed the first studio video diary then you'l love this one too. If you didn't then you should at least find this an improvement! Once again you can find it here on the Downloads page.

As promised the RTA lads have sent us the first of many
3rd May 2006 - Studio Video Diary now online!
video diaries following their progress in the studio.
Most of you will be aware that they re-entered the studio with Andy Sneap last weekend where they recorded the remainder of the drums.Spirits are running high and progress is good. Make sure you keep visiting the Downloads page over the next couple of weeks as we've been told there's more videos to come!

--15th April 2006 - Album UpdateThe band are back in the studio with producer Andy Sneap (Machine Head, Trivium, Killswitch Engage etc). next week to finish tracking, things are going great and the band will be recording another 5 songs in this session to go with the 7 already recorded...the band is really happy with the depth and diversity of the material.
If all goes to schedule the as yet untitled album should go to mixing towards the end of July.
Ayns comments, ‘Thanks for all the kind words & support, we'll repay u with this album don't u worry!’...
--2nd March 2006 - EXCLUSIVE! New Track.

15th April 2006 - Rob heads for Departures Its been rumoured for some time now that Rob was leaving the band to pursue his flying career. We can now confirm that from February 2006 Bassist Joel Graham has been stepping into those hefty boots on a more regular basis. After successfully qualifying as a commercial airline pilot Rob decided that now was the time was right to take the plunge. RTA wish Rob every success in his new career and thank him for being part of the band for as long as he could be. Listen out for ‘This is your Captain Roberto Naylor speaking’...if you’re travelling on Easyjet anytime soon!A brief introduction...If you’ve seen RTA live this year you’ll know that the band has a new permanent Bass Player – Joel Graham, Joel played with Leigh and Ayns in Ninedenine and is the perfect replacement...he’s technically gifted but also lays the fattest grooves – we hope you can join us in welcoming Joel into the band. Commenting on the situation Leigh said, ‘it was a very sad day when Rob told us he had to go but I knew straight away there was only one man to replace him...Joel, over the last year we have gone from a studio project band to a band with a stable line up and great live show – the album is next – I think ur gonna like it!’.

10th November 2005 - Extreme RTA Rise To Addiction are this months Featured Artist on the popular Extreme Radio website where 'Falling As One' has proven to be a favourite amongst its regular listeners. So log on, tune in and get requesting.
30th October 2005 - Rise To Addiction: UK Television Appearance! Not ones to turn down a golden opportunity to promote the band to a wider audience, Rise To Addiction were invited to join the ‘Orange Playlist’ production team who are currently touring the UK. The programme is presented by Jayne Middlemiss and is on Wednesday nights around 11:30pm on ITV1.It just so happens that some of the Orange crew are huge fans of Rise To Addiction and are keen to see the band rival the pop pap currently dominating the airwaves and offered them the chance to put their name across screens all over the country...Aynsley, ‘We had absolutely no idea what the score was, we got a call asking if we’d like some screen time and if so come along to Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield wearing our own band t-shirts. It was a very light hearted affair and something that was impossible to take seriously. Leigh, John and myself met the producer around mid day. Each of us (begrudgingly) wearing our own band T-shirts! The Producer briefly ran through the details. Basically, we had to listen to the new Stereophonics single on the latest Orange mobile phone and comment on the song. That was easy enough. Coincidently, we all thought it was shit. But it wasn’t that simple. The programme thrives on the odd outspoken view from local eccentrics and no doubt the odd chav. So after sinking a few pints we tried to fit into a least one of those catagories’. We’ve been informed that John, Leigh and Aynsley will make a brief appearance on ITV1 on either Wednesday the 2nd or 9th November so set your video machines. Of course, we cannot guarantee they will make the final edit but as they say, a nods as good as a wink to a blind man….or something like that. Your chance for TV stardom! A little birdy also tells us that if you go along to any the Orange Tour Dates wearing your RTA t-shirt you will stand a good chance of appearing on the show too. It couldn’t be easier. Though we're not quite sure where the tour is.
19th September 2005 - Top dog!The debut E.P. from Rise To Addiction is now available at most HMV stores around the UK through Madman Records & Plastic Head Distribution. Some of you will no doubt have been drawn towards it by its striking non black cover. Though we do not have the official figures at this moment in time we can certainly tell you that a number of stores have placed re-orders.If your local HMV and independent stores have not yet made room for Rise To Addiction make sure to give them a nudge.Don't forget, if you have not yet purchased your copy of the E.P. you can do it here or buy it online at HMV.co.ukThe choice is yours.
