Joel had this to say on the move: 'Although I'm moving to Evile, I can't help but feel that's it's a shame that i can't practally do both bands. I have had some amazing times with RTA and met some great people along the way. (Thank You!) I will miss Leigh, Aynsley and Steve but I will be sure to keep in touch with them as much as possible and we will remain great friends. -- May 15th - New album details Just wanted to update everyone on the album, I know things have been quiet but that doesn't mean we haven't been really busy! -- April 14th - HYDROGYN: European Tour Postponed Ashland, Kentucky-based rockers HYDROGYN have issued the following update: "It is with much frustration that the band has announced today the rescheduling of the European tour for the fall of this year. Guitarist Jeff Westlake has suffered an injury to his left wrist in an accident and will not be able to play for a three-to-four-week period." Commented Jeff: "It was just a freak thing that happened and I ended up with my wrist fractured so I will just deal with it and be ready to move on hopefully by mid to late May. I would also like to take this time to apologize to all of our fans who were planning on attending the shows and the promoters as well for all the hard work; we will reschedule the dates for fall and I will be looking doubly forward to doing those dates so hold on to your tickets and we will be announcing the new dates soon." -- April 7th - RTA to join Hydrogyn on UK tour RISE TO ADDICTION are set to join US Rockers HYDROGYN on their upcoming UK Tour in April. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for hanging in there, we've had loads of people asking about the new album…here's the progress report! I've now finished all vocals, and the mix will start the 1st week in January. It's sounding great so we all hope it will be worth the wait for you! We're having a bit of time off now over Christmas due to our producer and one half of our dynamic guitar duo, Steve, becoming a dad for the 1st time! He's the proud parent of baby Emily! We're hoping to be out on tour supporting the album in 2009, definitely in the UK and Europe. Here's our fav albums of the year, do you agree? III & IV:Air & Earth Ashes Divide - Keep Telling Myself It's Alright King's of Leon - Only by the Night. -- October 10th - Studio Update from Leigh! Thought I would give you all an update on the new album! I'm currently recording the vocals and it's going great, we're using a new mic I bought by Rode and it's hitting the spot! The vocals are being done pretty much live so we capture the energy of the performance - so far so good! Ayns laid the drums down a while ago and did a great job; the sounds we're working with are top notch as always – very real and attacking. His Premier kit really is the dogs bollocks. All the guitars have been finished for some time now bar Steve and Johns shape throwing solos! We tracked using my good friend Andy Stone's (Ninedenine) Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier which is still my favourite sounding amp, we used the same model on the last album. We mic'ed this up through a Marshall 4x12 and got really cranked and rowdy for that real live tone. No POD processing here! Joel has finished all the bass and has done a great job in underpinning this whole thing. Ampeg is of course the amp of choice! I'll be recording vocals over the next week or so then we bring it all together for the mix. As an experienced engineer I'm really happy with all the sounds we've got and the mix should be exciting. I can't wait for you to hear 10 new RTA songs! LeighRTA -- August 11th - Anyone for Baseball? We've just added a new RTA baseball shirt to the shop section! -- August 4th - Escape from the studio! RTA will be playing a one-off live date before starting to mix their album! Friday 29th August : West Riding, Dewsbury, UK The band will be airing some of their new material for the first time so it's definitely a show not be missed if you can make it! Commented Joel: "It's a hometown gig to me and I can't wait for people to hear some of our new stuff, after listening to it ourselves for weeks it's time you all got a listen!!" -- June 16th - Live shots added! 30 new live shots have been added to the live gallery, check em out! -- June 14th - More album details revealed! Message from Leigh: Just dropping in to let you know that the new album is going really well, all the demoing and writing is now done and we've ended up with 10 songs that we're all really happy with, I'm really excited about u all hearing what we've been up to!! I know it sounds a bit cliché but we really think that these songs are the best work any of us have ever put our name to so all is good! I have some song titles for you (in no particular order); these are more or less decided on but I might keep u guessing! Fade Away Fallen from grace Home Indelible Numb One more time Outside Scars we wear Sick of me The whisper We start recording the album proper this Sunday (15th June), Aynsley is ready to destroy! Anyway that's where we're at, at the mo, everything is bang on schedule for when we have to deliver this baby to the label, we'll keep you updated all the way along & hopefully we'll be filming some of the tracking and some more ‘avant-garde' moments of the whole experience as well… Thanks for all the support, hold tight we'll be back soon!! -- June 7th 2008 - RTA endorsed by Audix Mics Rise To Addiction are proud to announce Audix Microphones will be enlisting RTA onto their artist roster. Comments Steve, “As part of the prep work for the new Rise To Addiction record I've been working hard on our drum sounds and had struggled to get the depth and punch I've been looking for...the Audix mics have changed all of that!! Suddenly it's as though everything's gone from Black and White to colour!; amazing Mics!” -- 01 June 2008 - RTA confirmed for Rock Nights! Hi all Just wanted to give you an update on what's happening in the RTA camp. We're currently taking a bit of time off the live side of things in order to give album All I can say really about the songs and their direction is that they build on the work we did with 'A New Shade…' and take the best elements of RTA and push em further…hope that makes sense! I've currently got most of the melodies sorted for the songs and have been writing lyrics as we've gone…So far writing these songs has been a real cathartic experience and I want the lyrics to really reflect that. Here's a couple of working titles for u, they may of course change … Anyway hope this has been informative – all demoing will be finished by April and then the real recording starts with a tentative release date of around Feb 09.
